GAIL India has issued a tender to acquire up to 26pct stake in a US LNG project with a 15-year offtake agreement, reviving efforts stalled under the Biden administration. This strategic move aims to ostensibly address India's US$46 billion US trade surplus but more importantly would support its goal of ramping-up natural gas usage by 2030.
