Market coverage has predominantly focussed on Germany’s efforts to quickly ramp up direct LNG imports through new FSRU capacity. However, Finland has not sat idle and quietly added its FSRU to end its dependency on Russian pipeline gas, even connecting its FSRU to other Baltic states. Baltic LNG imports have more than doubled since the start of 2022.
