The delivery of an LNG cargo to Argentina on Sunday last week carries significance beyond its unseasonal timing. At a price more than three times the average landed price last year, which was reflective of a generally tight market at the time of purchase in early February, Argentina needs to brace for a much-inflated gas bill in the coming southern hemisphere winter.
