The two LNG import terminals belonging to GDF-Suez, Fos Tonkin near Marseilles and Montoir-de-Bretagne in western France, have returned to normal operations after being the focus of wildcat strikes and picketing over executive bonuses and pay.

Royal Dutch Shell, the second-largest shareholder in Sakhalin Energy’s Russian Far East LNG project after Gazprom, said the first cargo has been sent to Japan on board the “Energy Frontier” LNG carrier.

Sempra Energy, the US LNG terminal developer, said it expected to receive its first cool-down cargo in May for its new Cameron LNG terminal in Louisiana, and forecast a surge in additional cargoes for the Atlantic Basin as short-term Far East LNG demand slumped.

Gas Authority of India Ltd. (GAIL), the country’s leading natural gas company, said it expected to put the nation’s third LNG import terminal, Dabhol LNG, into operation by mid-April, seven years after the collapse of the original owner, US power company Enron.
