Maine-Calais LNG, the US import terminal project backed by investment bank Goldman Sachs, is moving forward, with its affiliate pipeline company applying to the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for permits to proceed.

Wartsila, the Finland-based carrier propulsion system maker, said it has signed a long-term service agreement with Denmark’s Maersk LNG.

Royal Vopak of the Netherlands, the leading energy storage company, said it signed an agreement with Zamil Group of Saudi Arabia for both companies to develop independent   LNG and bulk liquids terminal facilities for the Middle East and North Africa region.

Australia Pacific LNG, a joint venture between ConocoPhillips and Origin Energy, awarded a $220 million drilling and work-over rig contract for their coal-seam-gas-to-LNG project in the Australian state of Queensland.
