The Australian Ichthys LNG project being developed by Japanese energy company Inpex and France's Total is moving into a new phase of construction at the Blaydin Point site of the liquefaction plant near the northern port of Darwin.

Japanese classification society Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, known as ClassNK, is working on the industry's most modern small-scale LNG carrier that will transport LNG from Tokyo Bay to other parts of Japan and also make the fuel available for bunkering operations.

Woodside Petroleum, the Australian LNG operator, is going ahead with a natural gas project that will provide additional feed-gas for the Northwest Shelf LNG venture, the nation's oldest liquefaction plant.

The main Israeli company planning LNG projects offshore Israel and in Cyprus, while becoming a supplier of feed-gas to Egyptian liquefaction plants, posted higher profits and revealed the state of supply talks for its huge Leviathan gas field in the East Mediterranean.
