The Australian Competition Commission said it would not oppose the acquisition by the largest liquefied natural gas operator, Woodside Petroleum, of Apache Corp.'s  interests in the Wheatstone and Kitimat LNG projects in Australia and Canada respectively.

The Floridian Natural Gas Storage Co. plans to export liquefied natural gas in containers from ports in the US southeast from a proposed liquefaction and storage facility in Martin County, Florida.

Anthony Veder, the Dutch gas shipping company, has retrofitted its 6,500 cubic metres capacity LNG and liquefied petroleum gas carrier, the "Coral Anthelia", with a dual-fuel engine that enables it to run on boil-off gas when transporting LNG.

Residents of the town of Nikiski in the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska have agreed to leave their homes under a purchase programme by the US state's LNG project in the first tangible sign that the venture is moving forward.
