Indian LNG expansion is still burdened by taxes despite reduction in import duties in latest budget

While India has halved custom duty on liquefied natural gas received at import terminals, the Indian state of Gujarat, where most of the terminals are located, is keeping the tax on gas consumed outside the state, making it more difficult for LNG fuel projects to advance.
