BP pays up to $500M for 10 percent of huge Egyptian gas field that will impact LNG market

Italian energy company Eni has agreed to sell to BP a 10 percent stake in the Shorouk concession in Egyptian waters of the East Mediterranean for up to $500 million, making the UK company a partner in the “supergiant” Zohr field that will impact regional LNG supplies when it comes on stream in late 2017.
