Japan surprises with surge of over 9 percent in August LNG imports at expense of thermal coal

Japanese liquefied natural gas shipments for August unexpectedly surged more than 9 percent after falling in the previous four months as lower prices stimulated demand at the expense of thermal coal for power generation.
