Japanese spot LNG price reverses recent rise to be at $5.40 per MMBtu on low summer demand

Japan said the price of spot liquefied natural gas cargoes imported into the country in August averaged $5.40 per million British thermal units, lower than last month’s price and $2.30 per MMBtu down from the year-ago period as gas-fired power demand was at its lowest during the Northern Hemisphere summer.
