Panama confirms US firm to develop gas and LNG power hub ahead of June Canal ceremony

Panama confirmed it had chosen the US company AES Corp. to develop and operate the Central American country’s first natural gas-fired power plant with associated LNG import facilities ahead of the official opening of the expanded Panama Canal on June 26 that will allow LNG carriers and other larger vessels to transit.
