US LNG imports down 60 percent so far in 2008

US LNG imports have plunged 60 percent so far in 2008 as surging Henry Hub natural gas prices of around $13 per million British thermal units have still not been high enough to compete with buyers from Japan, China and India willing to pay up to $18 per MMBtu.
