Main LNG producer in Europe Statoil posts quarterly loss of over $1Bln for charges

Statoil, the Norwegian energy company and one of the main suppliers of natural gas to Europe and with the region’s largest LNG production plant, posted a fourth-quarter net loss of 8.9 billion Norwegian crowns ($1.18Bln)  compared with a net quarterly profit of 14.8Bln crowns ($2Bln) in the same three months the previous year.
