Japan imported 8.25 million tonnes of LNG in December, the biggest monthly total of the year, to break its annual record of imports by a small margin with a total of 88.51MT for the 12 months as deliveries from the Middle East surged and demand for the fuel remained steady in the face of a continued nuclear shutdown.
