Japanese LNG imports drop on Mideast slump as coal preferred to replace nuclear

Japanese LNG imports showed their biggest monthly decline of the year as deliveries in August dropped by 2.7 percent amid a plunge of over 15 percent in LNG cargo arrivals from the Middle East, while thermal coal was preferred to replace nuclear power.
