THIS WEEK: Countdown for an expanded Atlantic-Pacific route for LNG carrier traffic

Work on the $5.25 billion expansion of the Panama Canal that will allow LNG carriers to engage in return transits from the Atlantic to the Pacific basins (See map) is almost 80 percent complete and on track for operations to coincide with the first large-scale US LNG export plant coming on stream.
