Det Norske Veritas GL, the merged Norwegian and German classification societies, said a combination of rising fuel-oil bunker prices, environmental awareness and regulations, growth in production and developing infrastructure have served as the tipping point for LNG to establish itself as a viable primary fuel for commercial vessels in the US.
