Wood Group of the UK, the energy engineering company has merged its three subsidiaries operating in Canada under the Wood Group Mustang title ahead of the country's launch of multiple LNG projects and more shale-gas exploration and production.
Wood said the three Calgary, Alberta-based Wood companies - IMV Projects, Wood Group PSN Western Canada and Mustang Canada - have been merged to create a broader Canadian presence.
"Wood Group Mustang now offers expanded and enhanced engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services to the Canadian and broader North American energy services markets," the company said.
The move by Wood comes as Canada starts to direct its massive shale-gas and other natural gas resources towards the build-up of an LNG industry centred on the Pacific coast and the gas fields of northeast British Columbia.
