THIS WEEK: Plight of LNG buyer Chubu casts shadow over East Asia cargo market

Chubu Electric Power Co., one of Japan’s top three LNG buyers, has admitted being in a dire financial plight as it upgrades its loss forecasts, stops dividend payments for the first time in 33 years and asks the government to raise power prices above inflation for the first time since the second oil crisis in 1980.
