Woodside Petroleum, the operator of Australias North West Shelf LNG venture, said first-half profit rose more than 16 percent to A$610 million (US$490M) and capital expenditure jumped 30 percent to US$1 billion in the six months as spending increased on the planned Pluto and Browse LNG projects.
