Shell Global Solutions awarded France-based Technip framework agreement for offshore facilities in a region covering Asia and Australia.
The contract is for a period of five years, with an additional five-year extension option.
Technip is one of the main companies working on the Shell Prelude Floating LNG project offshore Australia. The Paris-based company is currently building up its FLNG and subsea capabilities.
Shell for its part is planning to develop other FLNG projects in the region, including the Abadi FLNG venture led by Japan's Inpex offshore Indonesia.
The Technip-Shell contract concerns engineering and project management services to support the engineering scope of Shell's offshore project facilities in the region.
Technip said the scope of work included pre-front-end engineering and design as well as FEED, procurement services and construction management.
Technip's operating centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will execute the contract with the support of other operating centres in the Asia-Pacific region.
"This contract further strengthens our long-standing relationship with our key client Shell, in a region where the offshore market is growing fast," Technip said.
