THIS WEEK: Canadian rejection of Petronas will diminish trust in LNG plans

The Canadian blocking of the multibillion-dollar takeover of shale-gas producer Progress Energy Resources by Malaysian energy company Petronas is a setback for Canadian LNG plans. Canada has rejected one of the most experienced LNG players in the world with a valid plan for an LNG export plant on the Pacific Coast of British Columbia and with the experience and financing to succeed.
