Japan may allow foreign guards on ships after LNG carrier pirate incident off Oman

The Japanese government is considering a law change to allow foreign security companies to put armed personnel on board Japanese ships, including LNG carriers, to protect them from pirates off Somalia and in other dangerous shipping lanes.
