THIS WEEK: Japan of all the LNG nations has Mideast crisis insurance

Policy-makers are mulling the possible consequences of the carrying out by Iran of its threat to shut the Strait of Hormuz, locking in Qatar's LNG production. However, the world's largest LNG buyer, Japan, would perhaps be least affected by a temporary closure of that strategic Gulf waterway.
