Inpex Corp. of Japan said it completed a $875 million transaction giving Royal Dutch Shell a 30 percent stake in the Abadi Floating LNG project it's developing in Indonesian waters of the Arafura Sea, tapping into feed-gas in the Masela Block.

The Japanese LNG developer, which will also operate the Australian Ichthys LNG project with a liquefaction plant in Darwin, has brought Shell on board the Abadi FLNG venture as the Anglo-Dutch company is developing a floating liquefaction hull to produce around 3.5 million tonnes per annum of LNG.
