Pertamina seeks to buy China-destined LNG supply

Buyers of LNG supplies from Indonesia, such as China National Offshore Oil Corp., could soon feel pressures similar to those felt by Japanese utilities in recent years as Indonesia's domestic demand increases and it seeks to retain supplies for its own planned LNG import network.

Indonesia's state energy company Pertamina has now suggested it would be ready to buy part of the LNG supplies from the BP-operated Tangguh LNG plant contracted to the Fujian import terminal in China owned by CNOOC.
