Inpex Corp., the leading Japanese LNG production project developer, said it was also making good progress with its new Naoetsu LNG import terminal at Joetsu City on the Japan Sea coast of Honshu Island.

Construction began in July 2009 and the project is on course for commercial operations to start in 2014 as Japan builds up its LNG infrastructure to produce more gas-fired power to replace nuclear power outages.
