Commenting on US natural gas situation, given the bad weather hitting much of the US, Rob Thummel, Portfolio Manager at Turtoise Capital, said; "Well-below temperatures are forecast for much of the (US) east coast, which is increasing natural gas demand to start the year.
“At the same time, colder weather can result lower production if the major supply areas, such as the Marcellus, Haynesville, and/or Permian suffer from freeze-offs due to abnormally low temperatures.
