US energy giant ExxonMobil’s Global Outlook report forecast energy demand will increase by 15% to support a growing population and rising living standards, especially in developing countries. 

LNG will play a crucial role in meeting this demand and providing energy where it’s scarce, the company said in its report. “We see natural gas demand growing by around 20% by 2050,” the company said.
