Japan's Industry Minister, Muto Yoji announced last Friday that the country will make every effort to ensure a steady supply of LNG from Russia’s Sakhalin-2 project in response to new US sanctions.

The US Treasury Department had announced that new sanctions had been imposed against Russia's Gazprombank, the day before.
