Argentina, which produces natural gas from the Vaca Muerta shale reserves, planned to incentivise natural gas production in the country, but these plans were introduced too late, according to a GlobalData analyst.

Delays with Argentina’s Plan Gas IV has resulted in production not being ramped up enough to enable the country to get through the winter. Instead, it will be forced to rely on importing LNG at record-high prices.
