China’s LNG imports to reach more than 83 million in 2025 – greater than the previous record-high in 2021, as per Rystad’s base case scenario. Shipments rose more than 20 percent year-on-year during the first four months of 2024 on the back of low LNG spot prices although substantial inventories and tepid demand slowed subsequent growth.
