Standing firm in the face of US President’s 10 percent tariff on Chinese goods, the government in Beijing has retaliated by levying import duties on American goods: A 15 percent duty on coal and LNG and 10 percent on crude oil, machinery, cars and trucks. Analysts view Beijing’s measures as “fairly modest, at least relative to US moves.”
