Demand for natural gas, and especially for LNG, has slowed over the summer and going into the autumn despite a 13.9 percent increase during the period between January and June, according to customs data. Having taken advantage of low-priced spot LNG so far in 2024, Chinese buyers step back and restrain further purchases as storage levels fill up early.
