Asian LNG tendering slows as JKM price moves up

Friday, 05 April 2024

Tendering activities of Asian LNG buyers have slowed in March after the Japan-Korea-Marker rose above $9/MMBtu tracking TTF prices up from below $8/MMBtu. Still, buyers tendered for 108 cargoes – 23 more than in Q1-23 when JKM averaged $26/MMBtu, as CNOOC, Beijing Gas, Guanghui and Shenzen Energy are keen to snap up spot LNG when it becomes more competitive than other fuels.
