Klaipėda LNG terminal operator, KN Energies is offering 28 TWh of terminal regasification capacities for the period 2033–2044.

Long-term booking of regasification capacity provides market participants with an opportunity to secure strategic LNG supply positions in the region and to structure long-term LNG supply contracts, the company claimed.

The capacity allocation procedure began on 25th March and closes on 24th April.

The European gas market remains in a phase of transformation. Although price volatility and market tensions persist, long-term security of supply and access to reliable infrastructure remain among the key priorities of the energy sector.

As regional gas trading expands and integration of the Baltic and Nordic gas markets strengthens, and while supply opportunities beyond the region continue to develop, the Klaipėda LNG terminal is becoming an increasingly important and strategic gateway to the global LNG market, KN Energies said.

QatarEnergy has ‌declared force majeure on some of its long-term LNG supply contracts with Italian, Belgian, South Korean and Chinese buyers, among others.

Asian LNG buyers have diverted at least eight Atlantic Basin cargoes away from Europe, since the Middle East war began 28th February, according to S&P Global Commodities at Sea data.

Ukraine looks to Mozambique LNG

Ukraine has expressed interest in importing Mozambique LNG.

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with his Mozambique counterpart, Daniel Chapo earlier this week .

Writing on X, Zelensky said that Ukraine could help Mozambique counter “security challenges” in exchange for “gas supplies.”

"Ukraine is interested in additional energy supplies. Mozambique is interested in Ukraine's experience and technologies to strengthen its internal security and protect people from terror," he said.

Late last year, Ukraine’s Central Bank Governor, Andriy Pyshnyi said the country had lost about half its gas output since the Russian incursion, Reuters reported.

The EU must implement the US trade deal without amendments or risk losing “favourable” access to US LNG shipments, President Trump’s ambassador to the bloc said, speaking to the UK’s Financial Times.

Commodity trading giant, Vitol has signed a binding agreement for the purchase of around 1.5 mill tonnes per annum of US LNG from Venture Global for five years, commencing this year.

Singapore-based oil and gas investment company, Sinolam has submitted an arbitration request with the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) Convention against Panama, following the cancellation of a license for a major gas-fired power generation project.
