Technip, partners secure EPCC contract for Coral Norte FLNG
Technip Energies, together with Japan Gasoline Co. (JGC) and Samsung Heavy Industries, has secured an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract for the Coral Norte floating LNG project off Mozambique. The contract was awarded by Mozambique Rovuma Venture, a joint venture comprising Eni, ExxonMobil and China’ CNPC.
Controversy flares up in Berlin as Adlon hosts World LNG Summit
LNG is a controversial topic in Germany: Green paint was thrown at the back entrance of Berlin’s luxury Hotel Adlon at the opening day of the Global LNG Summit while Stefan Wenzel, state secretary to Germany’s economy minister Robert Habeck spoke just prior to a panel with top executives from Cheniere Energy, ADNOC Gas, Shell and bp.
First two LNG tankers transit expanded Panama Canal
Shell-chartered 'Maran Gas Apollonia' has become the first LNG carrier to transit the expanded Panama Canal. BP-owned 'British Merchant' is now following suit. Up to 550 LNG tankers are anticipated to transit the canal by 2021.
