Wood Group of the UK and KBR of the US have won a contract to deliver integrated front-end engineering and design for Royal Dutch Shell’s Crux project comprising the construction of a platform and gas export pipeline located offshore Western Australia and linked to the Prelude floating LNG venture.

TechnipFMC, the Franco-US energy and LNG engineering company, has posted falling second-quarter revenues and net income compared with last year in weak results that were offset by a high level of new orders.

Aker Solutions, the Norwegian energy project engineering and oil and gas services company seeking more LNG work in subsea, gas compression and floating facility design said its first-half order intake amounted to 14.3 billion Norwegian crowns ($1.76Bln), almost double the amount of a year ago.

TechnipFMC, the merged subsea and liquefied natural gas engineering company, said one of its subsidiaries won an offshore well services contract for the Australian Ichthys LNG project.

Aker Solutions, the Norwegian energy and LNG project engineering company, said the markets were challenging and projects are being postponed across the industry, though cost cuts are driving down break-even levels, which may allow some major developments to be sanctioned in the next 12-18 months.
