The US Department of Energy has just published its latest liquefied natural gas export data illustrating the price differences and proportion of spot cargoes as well as other details of shipments such as spot or contract from the six liquefaction plants in full commercial operation.

The US is increasing its domestic natural gas demand for gas-fired power plants as the number of facilities has now overtaken coal-fired plants and the power industry competes with liquefied natural gas export projects for abundant feed-gas resources.
