Woodfibre LNG has completed critical tunnelling works on its Eagle Mountain–Woodfibre feedgas pipeline, paving the way for pipe installation and commissioning ahead of the project's targeted first LNG cargo in December 2027.

Oil and gas prices have risen sharply after details emerged on drone attacks damaging Saudi Arabia’s East-West crude pipeline, which transports oil from the kingdom’s eastern fields to the Red Sea port of Yanbu, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz. The pipeline recently carried around 4 million barrels per day, and had to shut down following the incident.

UK NBP front-month November gas rose more than 5% to 208.36 pence per therm on the news, while Brent crude climbed above $108 a barrel.

Gulf South Pipeline’s Texas Gateway Project has entered the federal FAST-41 permitting program, accelerating federal review of the proposed 155-mile pipeline that would add 1.45 Bcf/d of natural gas transportation capacity between East Texas and the Louisiana Gulf Coast. If completed, the added takeaway capacity would also help supply expanding U.S. LNG export facilities and bolster feedgas availability for new projects.

Woodfibre LNG, positioned as the world’s first net zero LNG export facility, is more than halfway complete and targets end-2027 for in-service, CEO Luke Schauerte said. Addressing potential labour shortages, he told BNN Bloomberg the project is “in a really good spot (…) sort of between the waves of building.”

Chevron has agreed to supply 46 petajoules of pipeline gas to Alinta Energy from July 1, 2027, drawing its equity interests in the Gorgon, Wheatstone and North West Shelf LNG projects. The accord covers pipeline gas, not LNG export cargoes, as the competition between local supply obligation and LNG exports intensifies.

Canada has moved closer to unlocking a new Pacific Coast crude outlet from Alberta while fast-tracking British Columbia LNG projects with the aim of tripping LNG production and export beyond 2030.

US energy major Glenfarne has signed a letter of intent (LoI) with the Alaskan utility Chugach Electric Association to advance a gas supply deal tied to the $44 billion Alaska LNG development. Chugach wants to source North Slope gas via the Alaska gas pipeline, designated to meet Alaska’s domestic needs and supply feedgas to produce 20 mtpa of LNG for export.

Sempra’s Port Arthur Pipeline Louisiana Connector project is now complete and in-service, offering additional gas takeaway capacity for US Gulf Coast LNG export terminals along the US Gulf Coast. Port Arthur LNG Phase 1 is under construction and, when complete, will be able to process and ship up to 13 mtpa of LNG, according to project developers.

Turkey’s state-owned pipeline operator BOTAS and the Italian energy company Edison have agreed to work together on LNG trade and swap operations, while evaluating a new gas pipeline across the Mediterranean between Turkey and Italy.

With LNG Canada and other projects advancing, Canada is entering a broader energy-infrastructure boom rather than a one-off build-out. For upstream companies like Canadian Natural Resources, that shift lifts realized gas pricing, strengthens margins, and expands long‑term cash‑flow potential.
