Golden Pass LNG Train 1 is still finding its feet, having exported only two cargoes to date – one to Belgium and one to Taiwan – with roughly 0.14 mpta combined, according to LNG Journal calculations. Unplanned maintenance is understood to hamper Golden Pass LNG’s ramp-up nearly two months after its inaugural cargo.

Tightening LNG balances in Europe, amid maintenance across Norway’s pipeline network and lower imports, have made Kpler analysts “slightly bullish” on benchmark TTF gas prices, while restocking in China and stronger Asian demand underpin global LNG markets.

Trinidad and Tobago’s Atlantic LNG terminal plans to shut its 6 mtpa Train 4 for up to 50 days in May and June for extensive maintenance and repairs, sources told Reuters. During the shutdown, the terminal will continue exporting LNG from Trains 2 and 3, which have a combined capacity of 6 mtpa.
