The US Court of Appeals has removed a major legal obstacle to Venture Global’s CP2 LNG export terminal in Louisiana, upholding the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) approval of the $28 billion project and its associated CP Express pipeline.

Qatar’s energy minister Saad al-Kaabi has threatened to halt LNG supplies to the European Union if the bloc proceeds with its planned supply chain directive. Katherina Reiche, the German energy minister will address the issue during her visit in Qatar this week.
