Golar LNG, the owner and operator with its affiliates of a fleet of 27 vessels, has been experiencing setbacks in plans to spin off shipping operations and to become an infrastructure company in gas-fired power joint ventures.

Australia-listed Liquefied Natural Gas Ltd, and its Magnolia LNG project in the US state of Louisiana, has agreed to supply cargoes to new terminal in Vietnam planned for the Mekong Delta as part of a gas-to-power project.

The southwest African nation of Angola, a liquefied natural gas exporter to nations such as India and China, has signed an accord with an American company to set up LNG import facilities as part of a gas-to-power project.
