LNG Canada, the federal government, and British Columbia have agreed on a process to resolve the remaining “final items” needed to support a potential 2026 financial investment decision on the terminal’s Phase 2 expansion.

Venture Global has requested regulatory approval to feed natural gas into the final block of its Plaquemines LNG plant by Thursday. If FERC approves, LNG will soon be produced at all 36 trains of the 27.2 mtpa liquefaction terminal – more than a year before long-term offtakers were meant to receive their contracted cargoes.

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) final order for Commonwealth LNG is affirming the authorisation of its 9.5 mpta LNG export terminal to be built along Calcasieu Ship Channel near Cameron, Louisiana. With FERC’s final order in place the $11 billion project can now go ahead.
