The European Parliament considers amending climate rules, bowing to pressure Qatar and the US. The world’s two top LNG exporters warn of an “existential threat” to key European industry if compliance costs, liability risks and supply-chain disruptions become excessive.

The tanker ‘Arctic Mullan’, carrying LNG from Russia’s Arctic LNG 2 terminal, has berthed at Beihai regas terminal in China’s Guangxi province. If unloaded, it would be the first Western-sanctioned LNG cargo ever received abroad.
