Air Products of the US, the leading global supplier of LNG liquefaction equipment and technology, posted a 10 percent year-on-year fall in net income to $252 million in the first quarter of its fiscal year and said it was still in talks about taking over a Chinese company.

Air Products, the leading US and global LNG equipment maker, has made a takeover approach to Yingde Gases of China to gain a prominent role in the expanding Chinese natural gas and equipment market after completing its own restructuring.
