Chinese liquefied natural gas imports for the two-month January-February 2024 period soared by more than 23 percent from a year earlier as prices declined and demand grew during a time that encompassed the Lunar New Year holidays in China.
Germany has now nationalized a former subsidiary of Russian natural gas company Gazprom that had already been taken control of by the German authorities in April as part of sanctions and energy security measures after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Teekay LNG, the shipping company with almost 50 LNG carriers in its fleet, said it secured new fixed-rate charters for two of its majority-owned LNG carriers successfully refinanced its existing $225 million unsecured revolving credit facility.
