The Asian-based developer of the Canadian Woodfibre LNG export project in British Columbia has received provincial authorization to continue clearing the brownfield site near the town of Squamish that was previously a pulp mill.
The Canadian Woodfibre LNG project proposed for the district of Squamish in British Columbia has reached final agreement with the Squamish First Nation, giving the native people benefits of more than C$225 million (US$170M) in cash over the planned 40 years of operations.
Woodfibre LNG, the Canadian export venture planned for the district of Squamish in British Columbia and owned by a Singapore-based company, has signed a preliminary supply deal with a subsidiary of the largest Chinese LNG importer, China National Offshore Oil Corp.
