Wison Offshore and Marine, the Chinese shipbuilding company and builder of the first floating LNG production barge set to be deployed in Argentina, has received approval from the American Bureau of Shipping for its latest Floating Natural Gas-to-Methanol facility, recalling previous methanol and LNG plans for the Tassie Shoal offshore Australia.
Chinese shipbuilder Wison Offshore and Marine said it had developed a multi-functional carrier named the “Wison LNG Distributor” with the integrated functions to unload at terminals, carry out bunkering and deliver containers, all aimed at the regional distribution market.
Wison Engineering Services, the Chinese company listed on the Shanghai stock exchange, was awarded a contract for a small-scale liquefied natural gas production plant in the Central Asia republic of Kazakhstan.
